In 2005 KBS decided to set up an environmental management system with three main aims: |

| 1 The reduction of waste to landfill. 2 The reduction of gas consumption. 3 The reduction of electricity consumption. |

| In the first year, waste to landfill was reduced from 517,000 Litres to 75,900 litres and by the end of 2008, to 46,480 litres which equates to more than a 90% overall reduction. The efforts to reduce energy consumption have had mixed success to date but constant improvements to the system should ensure that the targets are achieved. In addition to the above, KBS have offered free access to our waste streams to customers and suppliers. It is our ultimate aim to improve our waste streams and to eventually achieve zero waste to landfill. |
